EPFE25: Europe’s Leading Event Production Forum Comes to Budapest
The Event Production Forum Europe (EPFE25), now the only international production meeting in Europe, will take place on 31 October at the Budapest Arena, Hungary.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the forum has grown far beyond its original Central and Eastern European focus to attract professionals from across the continent and beyond.
Founder Carl A. H. Martin says:
The day is designed to give positive advice and thoughts for the future and, we are proud to say, what is discussed will tend to become subject matter at conferences held after EPFE. The day consists of one 75-minute discussion, plus two 45-minute sessions, in the morning. In the afternoon there are two 75-minute sessions. Unlike elsewhere, delegates are encouraged get involved immediately, none of this 10-minute Q+A, at the end of people talking at you for an hour or more…
Those on the panels come from Hungary, Georgia, Slovenia, England, the USA, Serbia and Croatia, a diverse mixture. Delegates are from Germany, Poland, Holland, Sardinia, etc., as well as the above countries.
From Safety to AI: The Themes Shaping EPFE25
Subjects this year include Health, Safety and Security, which has been discussed a million times, we still need to listen and learn for the future. The Showstop Procedure came about after the Astroworld catastrophe, this will be discussed along with how events, of all sorts, can handle audience entry, crowd control, weather, terrorism, etc.
Education, or the lack of it, in the events industry throughout Europe. This subject was discussed over the past two years, This year universities from Hungary, Serbia, England and Slovenia have asked to be involved with the Forum, to discuss how things can improve.
A mental health session will feature qualified Phycologists from Hungary and Georgia, one of whom is also doing a PhD focussing on workaholism and toxic productivity. We live in an industry which destroys peoples’ mental health, we want this session to help people realise how to look after themselves.
Brave New World revisited is a panel at which technologies and changing thoughts and activities will be discussed, to encourage change for the good and make life simpler in the future. AI in particular continues to interest and, if used properly, can be of tremendous use. The panel will consist of those with a huge knowledge but varying points of view.
The panels finish with the Dinosaur Session, Carl A H Martin will talk to Bryan Grant from Britannia Row Productions who, in the 70’s, started to supply audio equipment which was initially Pink Floyd’s and not always in use. He still involved in the company which now offers high end Audio equipment and personnel to the music and event industry. There are lots of commercial (and personal) stories to come from one of the loveliest men in the music industry.
In the evening the event continues far more informally, when free food and drink are partaken and everyone mixes.
